What applications can be processed by Uncrewed Approvals?

Uncrewed Approvals holds a delegation from CASA to process certain Remote Operator Certificate applications. Specifically, we can process applications where:

  1. The nominated chief remote pilot has obtained their remote pilot license by completing a CASA-approved basic RPAS training course or by completing conversion training from a Part 61 flight crew license.
  2. Where the nominated Chief Remote Pilot does not hold ratings for all of the classes of RPA that are proposed to be operated under the ReOC, the application may include a type specialist.
  3. At present, industry delegates like Uncrewed Approvals can only process applications that are for aerial work applications such as aerial photography, aerial survey, and asset inspection (including powerlines). CASA still processes all applications for:
    1. Basic or type training approvals
    2. Beyond visual line of sight operations
    3. Emergency services operations
  4. We can process applications for Multirotor, Fixed Wing, Powered-Lift, and Helicopter operations using aircraft with less than 25kg maximum take-off weight. At present, we are unable to process applications for Airship operations.
